An award-winning writer, photographer and inspirational speaker, Melinda Kapor is drawn to capturing fleeting moments of visual layers, colors and light in her work. Born and raised in Central California, she moved from San Francisco to Rome, Italy, in the early Eighties, a move that heightened her awareness of being in the moment.

In 1986, work took her to Northern Italy’s Milan, where she met her future husband during the first month. In 2021, during rigid Covid restrictions, the two of them decided to challenge themselves and upturn their lives by moving from Milano to Portugal.  

Melinda’s natural interest in people and their stories led to a degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. She worked as an Intercultural Consultant in Milano, helping people adjust to living in Italy. Her eclectic background includes jewelry design as well as work in both the music and travel industries. 

Through words and pictures, Melinda has a knack for expressing beauty and sentiment. She is the author of the introspective This Time, Another Place, a book of poems. In addition she has been a contributing author to six book compilations.
