Born and raised in Germany, Annette Son has always had a desire to venture out. Because of her strong interest in foreign cultures, she studied and worked in various locations, among them Paris, France; Los Angeles, CA; Tokyo, Japan and Bremen, Germany.

She finished her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Bremen, Germany, in International Business Management and Japanese Language Arts. Not long after graduating, she settled back in the Los Angeles area and started her corporate career. She also received her Masters of Business Administration from the California State University of Long Beach while working full-time and having a baby during the second year of school. 

She is married now and has two children, but soon after the birth of her first child, she decided to take a much needed break from the corporate world and stay home to raise the children. Soon after, an opportunity arose to relocate to Hawaii for a one-year work project for her husband.

This ‘time-out’ provided a fresh start for the family that had increasingly been burdened by the overwhelming busyness of the Southern California life style.

One year of living in Hawaii turned into nearly four when additional projects became available, however, they were scattered across the Hawaiian islands. The family lived on each of the major islands, anywhere between six to twelve months. With each move, Annette learned how to sort out their personal items and simplify their lives.

The only way to heal and hold the family together was to strip away aggressively anything and everything that was an unnecessary burden and not truly needed for their particular life-style. Life had to be kept simple!

The family never suffered in any way other than having to leave behind yet another place they had come to love with its unique culture and the friends they had made. Annette was able to pick and chose the best practices from the various cultures she had absorbed, and apply them along with some business principles to everyday life for the family. She restructured their family life, finances, as well as work and play schedules. As a result, the husband and wife-relationship and the family unit grew stronger than ever.

Annette and family are once again living in Southern California, but they were able to ‘export’ and maintain the lifestyle they had developed for their family.

With all she learned, supported by training and certification in life coaching, Annette now helps others to enjoy a more balanced approach to life, to not be afraid of change, and to reach their personal and family goals, to define their visions and be in charge of their own destiny.
