Cher Slater Barlevi, MA, is Writer and Spiritual Counselor with a passion for lifting consciousness on this planet.

Cher's background is in the arts. A graduate of Art Center College of Design with a BA, cum laude, in Illustration, she has illustrated and written children’s books, tabletop books, magazine editorials, and education books, and has also produced large fine-art paintings using acrylic sculpture, old lace, antique beads and gems.

Cher has worked 40 years in show business on both sides of the camera–as an actress in film and theater and featured in hundreds of commercials. She has headed Hair, Makeup, and Wardrobe Departments for film, TV and commercials. During that time, she also worked as a model and stylist for photographers.

Cher's passion as a writer started while working in Hollywood as a screenwriter for 12 years. While attending UCLA and Media Bistro, she was able to fulfill a dream—to write a novel about healing after a crippling near-death experience from a car accident. "Dog of God: The Novel- a wild romp through wonderful worlds," became an Amazon International Best Seller in 2016.

For over 40 years Cher has also developed her talents as a medium, doing readings and using her art for channeling large “SOUL” paintings related to images and messages she receives, to help to move people’s lives forward. She also does art with a message for people’s pets to help in the healing process whether it has to do with a pet’s health, the owner’s healing, or after a pet’s passing.

Since earning her Masters of Spiritual Psychology at The University of Santa Monica in 2011, Cher gratefully works with the graduate volunteers from the Freedom to Choose Prison Project. She has also helped people find “The Kid Within® ” through her seminars, sharing her insights into the immense value of having “Fun” and “Play” in their lives.

Cher has recently become the founder of the Golden Light Creation Foundation, facilitating healing, art and writing retreats in Ojai, CA, helping people to awaken their divine magnificence by assisting them to release beliefs that hold them back from what they want and need.
